The Spring 2019 edition is once again packed with a fascinating mix of interviews and articles from artists, both nominees and Grammy winners, photographers, an author, and producers of quality Jazz vinyl products from Jazz in Europe and beyond!

We start with an interview with the Belgium Ivan Paduart, considered one of Belgium’s top jazz pianists and his duo jazz guitarist partner, Patrick Deltenre. They explain how the piano and guitar work harmoniously in a jazz duo setting and the results are demonstrated on their latest album, ‘Hand in Hand’.

Peter Jones ’s reflects on writing a biography of the American jazz singer Mark Murphy. The sensitive and insightful book has been nominated in 2019 by the association for recorded sound collection awards for excellence in historical recorded sound research.

An interview with  Dee Dee Bridgewater. A consummate professional powerhouse on and off-stage. This interview is packed full of Dee Dee’s truths and reflections. Also, we have an interview with the dedicated key team at Gearbox Records in London who have a global reputation for high-quality vinyl jazz products.

Interviewing Fred Hersch is a privilege that was fully embraced by our writer. Fred is very candid about both his personal and professional journey.

An interview with vocalist Paul Jost,  a jazz artist that may well explode onto the European jazz circuit in 2019. Paul’s ability to tell stories with both lyrics and his voice is mature sincere energy.

A stunning black and white photo spread of jazz artists from renowned Luxembourg photographer Guy Fonck, and a supporting interview.

An interview with E J Strickland, one of the most frequently recorded drummers of the 21st century, appearing on over 30 albums. E J shares his background, experience and how his artistry, life’s experience and observation have led him to his latest album – “Warriors For Peace.”

We round off with a pre-concert exclusive backstage interview with Take 6. An American a cappella sextet formed in 1980 and still going strong after 39 years. These 6 gentlemen reveal how they balance work and private life, and continue to adapt to remain the most awarded a cappella group in history with 10 Grammy Awards, 10 Dove Awards, 2 NAACP Image Awards, a Soul Train Award, and more.
