After sell-out show’s at New York’s Lincoln Center, pianist Eliane Elias brings her Made in Brazil project tonight to Cadogan Hall. One of the most charismatic performers in jazz today, South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim is at the Southbank Centre (Royal Festival Hall) and Michèle Drees provides a spectacular visual mix of thrilling tap dancers and great musicians. Another great night at the London Jazz Festival.

Following her Grammy-winning album ‘Made in Brazil’, the charismatic pianist and singer Eliane Elias plays a rare London concert with a brand new album ‘Dance of Time’ blending her Brazilian roots and sensuous, alluring voice with trademark, dynamic instrumental skills. Perfrmorming with Elias at Cadogan Hall is virtuoso bassist Marc Johnson, Rubens de La Corte on Guitar and Rafael Barata, drums. For lovers of latin jazz is one is a must see.

One of the most charismatic performers in jazz today, South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim has been at the forefront of the jazz scene for over fifty years. Abdullah Ibrahim’s music has long tracked the turbulence of his South African homeland’s history, matching its past struggles and current optimism through music of great hope and deeply reflective soulfulness.

Michèle Drees: Jazz Tap Project – 8:00pm
Venue: Royal Albert Hall / Elgar Room

A spectacular visual mix of thrilling tap dancers and great musicians, led by Michèle Drees, combining jazz, Latin and her own Rhythm Tap, this project works towards helping the revival of the iconic ‘Jazz Tap’, coming from Harlem to Hollywood’s silver screen, and right up to the present day Jazz Tap movement in the UK and throughout the world. Michèle Drees Jazz Tap Project has been a growing presence at major venues and festivals in the UK/internationally, with regular sell-out performances.
