Alto saxophonist Patrick Cornelius is set to embark on a tour across Spain, the UK, and Ireland with his new quartet. The tour, which begins on October 19, 2023, in Madrid and concludes on October 28 in Dublin, will feature performances in seven cities.
The quartet includes Cornelius on alto saxophone, James Francies on piano, Michael Janisch on double bass, and Rudy Royston on drums. This ensemble will be performing material from Cornelius’s latest album, “Acadia: Way of the Cairns,” released on Whirlwind Recordings.
A highlight of the tour is an exclusive London show at the renowned Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club on October 23. This performance is part of the club’s “Brit Jazz Fest” and will be the only UK date featuring the full American lineup.

Whirlwind Recordings, founded by bassist Michael Janisch in 2010, has established itself as a significant player in the contemporary jazz scene.
