Robert Glasper and Mos Def Perform Exclusive London Show.

Written by | Concerts, News

On Thursday 8th March 2018, London’s Troxy will play host to a once-in-a-lifetime live collaboration between hip-hop heavyweight Yasiin Bey and genre-defying pianist Robert Glasper. The much-anticipated show will also feature the drumming talents of the multi-Grammy Award-winning Chris “Daddy” Dave, whose new album Chris Dave & The Drumhedz was released on Blue Note at the start of the year.

Commonly known by his stage name Mos Def, Yasiin Bey has enjoyed a distinguished rap career spanning over two decades, working closely with hip-hop legends including Madlib, Common, Kanye West and The Roots as well as musicians from outside the rap genre, such as Gil Scott Heron, Bobby Womack and now, versatile pianist Robert Glasper. Texas-born Glasper’s roots are firmly planted in the jazz tradition, but he has set himself apart from many of his contemporaries by constantly exploring new musical territory across an award-winning, kaleidoscopic career.

This special collaboration, which will see the coming together of three of music’s true innovators, takes place at Troxy in East London on Thursday March 8th.
