Darwish Reclamation CD Cover

“Reclamation” with its 17 tracks melodies, nu jazz, world music and suave tones all in one, was recently released by Two Rivers Records.

Its talented artist, bassist Darwish, has made this debut solo album a very eclectic piece of work.

I believe Darwish’s voice makes the album, in fact I dare any of the listeners not to fall in love with it!   And if the above is not enough, the compositions and arrangements are beautiful, a mixture of ethereal and light pop accompanied by an underlying sense of forlorn and philosophical reflection.

And then, there are the lyrics, of course!  There is something for everyone: city life, love, loss, longing.  Tales within a tale.

Darwish has played with a lot of great musicians like Imelda May, Moses Boyd, Zara McFarlane as well as Sting, Newton Faulkner to name a few, but on “Reclamation” he has managed to claim his own title: a sensitive and talented writer and musician.

His juxtaposition of styles and tones makes this a very interesting and promising album!

We shall keep a close eye on Darwish and his future steps.  “Reclamation” is a refreshing outlook on music and the meaning of life!
