Jazz In Europe Magazine – Autumn 2023
The Autumn 2023 edition opens with a wide scope of perspectives from across the jazz world, anchored by the cover feature on pianist Miha Gantar. In this extended conversation, Gantar reflects on his most recent release. This issue also presents a substantial interview with bassist Jasper Høiby, tracing his journey from London into broader projects that reach well beyond the stage, while producer and Resonance Records co-founder Zev Feldman speaks about his work documenting and preserving important moments in jazz.
The edition turns toward the vocal arts with Fiona Ross in conversation with the legendary Rickie Lee Jones in “In the Company of a Duchess”, Andrew Read spotlighting David Linx with “Outside of the Ordinary”, and a feature on Mirna Bogdanovic framed as “A Vocalist with Something to Say”. Beyond individual artists, *The Long Hot Summer* casts a retrospective look at the festival season, Jan Fritz contributes the latest in “Vinyl Corner”, and William Ellis offers a selection of his images in “Behind the Lens”. Bringing the musical year into the present, the issue concludes with a round of recent album reviews.
