Vanessa Perica | Love is a Temporary Madness

Written by | Buy Direct, New Releases Page

In 2019, the Melbourne (Australia) based composer and arranger Vanessa Perica, assembled a formidable lineup of many of Australia’s leading jazz musicians to record her long overdue debut album. Known for her fearless and emotionally driven style of writing, she wrote specifically with these voices in mind for this ambitious recording project that was brought together in just four days.

Described by prolific saxophonist Julien Wilson as “A mighty achievement, and a milestone in Australian music,” this album finds beauty, darkness, edge and drama co-existing in an exciting journey for the listener.

Winner of the prestigious Bob Wyllie Scholarship in 2003 for ‘Most Outstanding Graduate’ at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Vanessa is in esteemed company with other recipients of the award including the likes of Linda May Han Oh, Mat Jodrell and Troy Roberts.
