Theatralia Jazz Festival 5th edition! – 11/12 November

Written by | Festivals, London Calling, News

With a phenomenal line-up and a fascinating programme, Theatralia Jazz Festival is back this month in its 5th edition!

The great artist and singer, Filomena Campus, originally from the island of Sardinia in Italy and a London resident for many years, is the head and heart behind this incredible project which is always full of surprises and talents!

Next Monday 11th, Campus and guitarist Giorgio Serci will present Scaramouche – a melodic and poetic journey with original music from their 2014 album in a new version for string quintet with members of the versatile Keld Ensemble.

Whilst on Tuesday 12 November, Filomena Campus’ Quartet is joined by one of my favourite flautists, Rowland Sutherland, his playing is on a different level and has always a raw power that moves me.

Both performances will be interspersed with readings of poems and testimonies from Elena Remigi’s In Limbo book, cited by actress Natasha Stanic Mann with the aim to trigger and inspire the musicians to improvise. After the first leg of this project, the second leg of the festival will take place in May 2020 in Rome.  And of course, Jazz in Europe will keep you updated on all the relevant details and guest artists for Rome!
