Coming Friday, October 6, The young French Guitarist Tom Ibarra will play the Sunset-Sunside with his Quartet.

At the age of 17 Tom has been called a child prodigy. Tom started playing guitar at age six and has composed since the age of 11 years. First Prize winner SACEM 2013 and 2014 the contest of Young Jazz Talent Festival of Saint-Ouen, he also received first prize in the Young Talent springboard Jazz & Swing Festival des Tuileries in 2013. At this young age Tom has already performed at many major festivals in France including Jazzitudes of Lisieux, the PAN Festival, Minifest Caen and the festival Jazz des Puces de Saint-Ouen. Also in 2015, Tom became one of the youngest endorsed Ibanez guitarists through Mogar Music.

Last year Tom was invited by Marcus Miller to join him on stage at the Saint Emilion Jazz Festival. The Video below is Tom performing Marcus Millers “Tutu” during the performance. Believe me it’s worth checking this out.

At the Sunset-Sunside Tom will be joined by Jeff Mercadié – saxophone, Auxane Cartigny – Keyboards, Antoine Vidal – bass and Pierre Lucbert on drums.
