Atlanta Records will release jazz/soul vocalist Chantae Cann’s second studio album Sol Empowered on October 13th, 2017 in collaboration with Ropeadope. Sol Empowered features guest appearances from Tarriona Tank Ball from Tank and the Bangas, 5-time Grammy award-winning band Snarky Puppy, and PJ Morton of Maroon 5 and Morton Records. Chantae also co-wrote and produced the record with Justin C. Gilbert, an active member of Justin Timberlake & The Tennessee Kids as well as BBE All-Star Band.
Following on from the success of her first album, Journey To Golden, which peaked at #1 on the iTunes Jazz Charts and #7 on the Jazz Billboard Charts in the US, Sol Empowered is a love letter from Chantae to her listeners with an in depth look at her evolution as an artist, and most importantly who she has come to be as a person. Influences like Bobby McFerrin, Haitus Kyote, Chaka Khan and countless others help shape the sounds that you hear throughout her music.
