Jazz In Europe works diligently to keep its finger on the pulse of the rapidly changing world of the digital music. Following up on the recent news that BBC Music magazine had been appointed by Apple Music as official playlist curator, UK jazz magazine “Jazzwise” has now been awarded the same status. The following announcement was published on the Jazzwise website.

Jazzwise is now an official curator on the Apple Music streaming service, becoming the first jazz magazine worldwide to be given the honour. As the UK’s biggest selling, multi-award winning jazz monthly, Jazzwise is invariably at the forefront when it comes to discovering the best new talent in jazz and its unrivalled panel of expert contributors means that the magazine has a breadth and depth of knowledge that lends itself naturally to playlist curation. Apple Music now has more than 13 million paid subscribers, and Jazzwise joins the likes of NME, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and Blue Note Records as a playlist curator.

Jazzwise’s launch lineup of playlists is as follows:

Gregory Porter influences – Jazz, Soul, Gospel and Grit

Herbie Hancock – From Jazz-funk to Hip Hop

Larry Young – Hammond Hero

Nordic Cool and Scandi Soundscapes

Sharrock Le Shock!

Sun Ra – Cosmic Creations

Tunes from the Farside

New playlists exploring all aspects of jazz will be produced regularly, so make sure to follow Jazzwise on Apple Music
