Featured Gig | Maciek Pysz Quartet at London’s Vortex

The Quartet led by Guitarist and Composer Maciek Pysz will be playing music from the critically acclaimed album “Insight” as well as music from their upcoming album ‘A Journey’ out in October 2015. “A Journey” was recorded at the Artesuono Studio (Italy) with ECM’s sound Engineer Stefano Amerio and is definitely something to look forward to as it features the great bandoneon master from Italy Daniele di Bonaventura, as well as extraordinary drummer Asaf Sirkis and double bass maestro Yuri Goloubev. This promises to be an unforgettable evening of world music, jazz and fusion combined with heart touching melodies.

Maurizio Minardi, Piano & Accordion

Maurizio Minardi is an Italian composer, pianist, accordionist and saxophonist, based in London since September 2008. In his international career Maurizio has released more than 10 albums and has worked with artists such as Paolo Fresu, Anotnio Forcione and Carmen Souza.

Huntly Gordon – Double Bass

Originally from Syndey, Australia, Huntly relocated to London in 2013 and quickly established himself as an up and coming bass player working with many London based artists including singer Theo Jackson.

Eric Ford – Drums

Originally from the UK, Ford is one of the most in demand drummers on the London Jazz scene.  His sound is very unique combining wide range of influences from world music and jazz. He has worked with Partikel, Jason Rebello, Ola Onabule.
